BANGKOK, Nov 19 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday discussed Thai economic recovery after COVID-19 with the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) which promised to support Thailand as the investment gateway of Southeast Asia.
The prime minister had a teleconference with the Thailand-based AMCHAM to secure support for Thai economic development especially during COVID-19 outbreaks. The teleconference happened as the Thai government attached importance to discussions with the private sector for the exchange of opinions, cooperation and the creation of promising atmosphere for business, trade and investment.
AMCHAM president Gregory Wong said it was the first and historic discussion with over 400 people from the government and private sector.
The private sector of the United States believed in Thailand’s potential and praised the Thai government for being open-minded and adaptive. The American private sector was satisfied with Thai economic development plans and was ready to support Thailand’s chairmanship of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. Thailand could consider AMCHAM as a friend, Mr. Wong said. (TNA)
