Meanwhile, Yuthasak Supasorn, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said TAT would today propose to CCSA its 7+7 tourism promotion program for the foreign visitors who already spent seven days in Phuket under the Phuket Sandbox project to travel to Koh Samui and nearby islands namely Koh Phangan and Koh Tao and then visit Koh Ngai, Railay and Koh Phi Phi in Krabi province and Khao Lak, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai in Phangnga province.
If CCSA approves the program, it can be implemented on Aug 17 and foreign tourists can travel to Koh Samui on Aug 23, Mr Yuthasak said.
He also said that the decision of Phuket authorities to extend domestic access restriction in Phuket for 14 days until Aug 31 had no impacts on the Phuket Sandbox project. (TNA)
