BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) – A demonstration leader and 13 followers were arrested after their protest near Government House on July 18, according to police.
Pol Maj Gen Yingyot Thepchamnong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police Office, said police arrested Thanadet Srisongkhram aka Mon Archeewa and 13 others at Bang Khen roundabout in Bang Khen district after their demonstration at Government House in the evening of July 18. Police also seized their pickup truck, long knives, sticks, slingshots and wheel nuts.
The 14 suspects were first brought to Bang Khen police station for the record of their arrest. Then Mr Thanadet was taken to Muang Nonthaburi police station and the 13 other suspects were brought to the Border Patrol Police Region 1. They were charged with violating the state-of-emergency decree. (TNA)
