BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received the first lot of 1.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca.
Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit, permanent secretary for public health, and Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, witnessed the delivery from AstraZeneca (Thailand). The lot of vaccine doses will support inoculation for general people from June 7 onwards.
Dr Kiattiphum said lots of COVID-19 vaccines by AstraZeneca and Sinovac would be distributed this week and about 6 million doses would be delivered to hospitals throughout this month.
Mr Anutin said that the vaccines would be available for all provinces but vaccinations might happen on a weekly basis in some areas because the vaccines would be gradually delivered. (TNA)
