BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) – Russia promised to deliver its COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, to Thailand and the Public Health Ministry is about to discuss the procurement.
Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha told the Foreign Ministry to order Sputnik V vaccine directly from Russia and the ministry already received a response from Russia that Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the supply for Thailand due to good and long-standing ties between Thailand and Russia and closer bilateral relations during the tenure of the present Thai government.
“The prime minister has ordered the Public Health Ministry to complete the matter and the ministry has already contacted the local representative of Sputnik V vaccine for an immediate discussion,” the government spokesman said. (TNA)
