BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) – The Metropolitan Police Bureau was examining the speeches of anti-government rally leaders at Ratchaprasong intersection before laying charges against them.
Pol Maj-Gen Piya Tavichai, deputy commissioner of the bureau, said interrogators were transcribing speeches during the latest rally organized by the United Front of Thammasat and Demonstration at Ratchaprasong intersection yesterday (March 24).
Police would take legal action against at least 11 people, 10 of whom were identified including Patsaravalee “Mind” Tanakitvibulpon and Atthapol “Kru Yai” Buapat.
They would face several charges including violation of the executive decree on public administration in emergency situations, the Infectious Diseases Act and regulations on the use of loudspeakers as well as traffic obstruction.
Police would summon the people to lay charges after there was enough evidence to do so, Pol Maj-Gen Piya said.
Meanwhile, the prosecutors on Thursday postponed giving a decision on indictment of 13 protesters including Patsaravalee in a case based on their rally outside the German embassy on Oct 26 last year. (TNA)
