BANGKOK, Oct 19 (TNA) — Political rallies are affecting investors’ confidence, warned the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) while urging the parliament to take action.
Demonstrations over the past 3-4 days worried investors because they were happening at many locations, FTI chairman Supant Mongkolsuthree said. He urged the government and all parties to quickly solve the problem.
All parties should take part in amending the constitution and FTI agreed with the decision to open a special House session for representatives to discuss solutions that could focus on amending the constitutional sections that needed to change, he said.
The Thai economy was recovering well given the increasing sales of automobiles but if a third party creates an untoward incident during political rallies, it will affect investors’ confidence in the country, Mr Supant said. Better political solutions would support economic recovery, he said. (TNA)
