BANGKOK, Sept 2 (TNA) – Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) sets up standard for cloth face masks, urging local producers to seek certification for their products.
The standard guideline for cloth face masks was rolled out on July 14, said Secretary-General of TISI, Wanchai Phanomchai.
Face coverings made of cloth must be safe for use and formaldehyde free, breathable and water repellant, he said.
More details can be found on the TISI’s website and producers can seek certification at the Community Product Standards Division or provincial industry offices across the country free of charge.
The TISI has set up 1,500 standards for local products and 13,000 local producers have been certified.
Fifteen more standards are being made for food such as processed durian products and will be launched soon. (TNA)
