BANGKOK, Aug 28 (TNA) – The Cabinet has increased subsidy rate on accommodation and air tickets for travellers, registered with the tourism stimulus campaign “Rao Tiew Duay Kan” (We Travel Together).
The decision came ahead of the long holiday early next month to encourage Thai travellers to spend a longer period at farther destinations in the country.
The new privileges give tourists higher subsidy for hotel accommodation for up to 10 nights, up from five nights, approved earlier. The government will pay 40% of normal room rates, limited to 3,000 baht per night.
It will also refund 40% of the ticket price no more than 2,000 baht per seat, increased from only 1,000 baht.
Eligible tourists, who enrolled on the Rao Tiew Duay Kan website can use their privileges until Oct 31. (TNA)
