UBON RATCHATHANI, June 20 (TNA) – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Friday reiterated the government’s full commitment to supporting the military in defending national sovereignty, during her first meeting with Lt Gen Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the Second Army Region, since a controversial audio clip surfaced.

The Prime Minister, joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, presented morale-boosting supplies to Village Security Volunteers in Dom Pradit sub-district before visiting Morakot Operations Base.
Addressing troops of the Suranaree Task Force, the Prime Minister thanked them for their “strength, courage, and endurance,” specifically acknowledging Lt Gen Boonsin and other commanders for their “steadfast dedication to protecting the people, the nation, and its sovereignty.” She vowed the government would provide “full support” to ensure the military’s well-being.

The Prime Minister’s journey included a helicopter transfer to the Chong Bok area, where she was seen conversing with Lt Gen Boonsin, marking their first public interaction since the alleged audio clip controversy.
The delegation also included the Secretary-General to the Prime Minister and the Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army. Notably, security personnel typically accompanying former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra were observed with the Prime Minister’s motorcade. -819 (TNA)
