ฺฺBANGKOK, June 19 (TNA) – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra today apologized to all Thais for a leaked audio clip of her conversation with Cambodia’s Senate President Hun Sen.
She clarified the situation with the military, explaining her true, peace-seeking intentions and admitting she was unaware the call was being recorded.
Paetongtarn emphasized that the incident is a “threat to national security,” not a minor issue. She urged Thais to unite and protect sovereignty, stressing that this is not the time for internal conflict.
She confirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lodged a diplomatic protest with Cambodia, expressing deep disappointment over the unconsented recording of a private call, which she deemed globally unacceptable.
