MUKDAHAN, May 2 (TNA) – A man in Thailand’s Mukdahan province has died from anthrax after consuming beef, health officials said on Friday.
Authorities have identified 377 people who came into contact with the deceased or potentially contaminated meat.
The death occurred after the man consumed beef at a merit-making ceremony in Don Tan district. Health officials reported three other suspected cases.
Livestock authorities have cordoned off the suspected slaughterhouse, collected samples, disinfected the area, and vaccinated 800 cattle and buffalo within a 5-kilometer radius. Don Tan district has declared disease control measures.
