BANGKOK, Feb 18 (TNA) — Mr Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Lao will pay an official visit to Thailand on February 20 at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, according to Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website.
This will be the first official visit to Thailand of Mr Sonexay, providing an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
This visit also marks the start of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Lao.
During his visit, Mr Sonexay and spouse, Vandara Siphandone, will have an audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand.
He will hold a bilateral meeting with Ms Paetongtarn at the Government House, followed by an official luncheon.
Their discussion will cover a broad range of cooperation, including economic, connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.
A particular focus will be on addressing common challenges, including narcotics, online scams, human trafficking, PM2.5 pollution and shared water resource management.
Mr is also scheduled to open the Thai-Lao Business Forum in Bangkok. (TNA).-813
