BANGKOK, Nov 11 (TNA) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched a new domestic tourism stimulus campaign on Friday offering 10,000 subsidies worth up to 400 baht ($11) each for travelers visiting 17 northern provinces.
This initiative is part of the TAT’s efforts to revive the local economy following recent floods.
To participate, travelers must register at over 550 participating hotels and scan a QR code. The first 10,000 to register will receive the discount. Once registered, tourists will have three days to use their discount multiple times within the 400-baht limit at various establishments, including hotels, restaurants, and spas.
The 4-million-baht ($117,000) stimulus package is expected to generate at least 44 million baht ($1.29 million) in economic circulation for the region during the year-end period, according to TAT projections.
The campaign runs until December 31 or until all 10,000 discounts have been claimed. – 819 (TNA)
