BANGKOK, July 3 (TNA) – MRT “Blue Line” raises prices by 1-2 baht, maximum 45 baht, effective today.
Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) has announced new fares for the Blue Line (Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line) metro, effective from today until July 2, 2026.
This is in accordance with the concession agreement that stipulates fare adjustments every 24 months or every 2 years, based on actual changes in the Consumer Price Index.
The Blue Line passes through several important locations, including Rama 9 – Huai Khwang – Ratchada – Silom – Sukhumvit, economic areas, and various offices.
It also connects to the Thailand Cultural Centre, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangsue (a rail transport hub at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal), Tao Poon station (linking to the Purple Line to Bang Yai, Nonthaburi), and tourist attractions like Hua Lamphong – Sam Yot – Wat Mangkon.
It also crosses to the Thonburi side, passing through Charan Sanitwong – Phetkasem – Bang Khae.
The full fare now starts at 17 baht and goes up to a maximum of 45 baht (previously 17 baht to 43 baht). The fare will increase by 1 baht for trips of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 11 stations from the origin. For trips of 8, 10, and 12 stations or more, the fare will increase by 2 baht.
Special discounts are still available: 50% for children and the elderly, and 10% for students, based on the general passenger fare. -819 (TNA)
