PHANG-NGA, April 9 (TNA) – Tourists flock to the Similan Islands National Park for a final visit before its closure, with just a month left before the end of tourism activities.
During the recent long weekend, a large number of both Thai and foreign tourists visited the Similan Islands National Park located in Phang Nga Province.
The park boasts pristine natural beauty, including white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, both on the islands and under the sea.
As part of every tour company’s itinerary, visits to Ko Miang, the location of the park headquarters, are essential. On the island, tourists can enjoy Princess Beach, a stunning 400-meter stretch of fine white sand, considered one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Thailand.
The azure sea serves as a playground for water activities and snorkeling, with coral reefs scattered along the coast.
Furthermore, tour boats take tourists for snorkeling to explore coral reefs, sea turtles, giant clams, and beautiful fish species near Ko Payu and Ko Ba-ngu islands. Then, they continue their journey to the Similan Island, where the sail-shaped rock formation symbolizes the Similan Islands.
A natural trail leads up to a viewpoint where everyone who visits should not miss the chance to take photos and check-in. Looking down, one can see the bay with its white sandy beach meeting the turquoise sea, along with two more snorkeling spots on the island.
For the 2023-2024 tourism season of the Similan Islands, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation announced that it will be open for visits from October 15, 2023, to May 15, 2024.
Therefore, there is only a little over a month left for tourists to visit. If missed, they will have to wait for the park to reopen on October 15, 2024. – 819 (TNA)
