CHONBURI, Jan 25 (TNA) – Two lion cubs have been seen at a house in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district, prompting concerned residents to request authorities for inspection.
Upon investigation, officials found two lion cubs, one male and one female. The homeowner claimed to possess proper documentation for the ownership of these lions, saying they have been under close care since the age of approximately 45 days and are currently 10 months old.
The male lion is named “Arsua,” while the female tiger is named “Linlin.” Initially raised in Sattahip, they have been relocated to the current residence for about six months, with diligent supervision and care provided.
The homeowner admitted a previous incident where the lion cubs escaped due to the automatic gate system. Prompt action was taken by the caretaker to retrieve them and secure the gate using a heavy-duty chain lock to prevent any future incidents of self-opening.
The discovery of two lions in a house in Chonburi came after a report of another lion cub was earlier spotted in a Bentley convertible, cruising down the street in the tourist city of Pattaya.
The incident prompted the authorities to check if the animal is legally owned, under good care and kept properly for the public safety.
Lions are controlled wildlife that requires ownership notification. They must be kept and maintained in a secure and safe enclosure. Movement or relocation is strictly prohibited before obtaining proper authorization. – 819 (TNA)
