BANGKOK, Oct 11 (TNA) – The Thai government has revealed its plan for the evacuation of Thai citizens from Israel, where conflict has escalated. The operation is divided into three phases.
In the first phase, 15 Thai citizens departed from Tel Aviv on October 11 aboard an El Al Airlines flight LY083. They arrived in Thailand on October 12 at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
The second phase will involve the evacuation of 140 Thai citizens from Tel Aviv on October 15, via an Airbus A340 aircraft provided by the Royal Thai Air Force. They are scheduled to arrive in Thailand on October 16.
In the third phase, 80 Thai citizens will depart from Tel Aviv on October 18 on a commercial flight, arriving in Thailand on October 19.
This evacuation plan was discussed during a coordination meeting, involving Thai diplomats and officials. The Thai government, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Air Force, is preparing to send additional aircraft to Tel Aviv to bring back a total of 140 Thai citizens. The repatriation process will prioritize the safety and well-being of Thai citizens in Israel, and it will be carried out swiftly once clearance is obtained from Israeli authorities.
In addition to evacuating Thai citizens, efforts are also being made to assist 11 Thai citizens who are currently taken hostage in Israel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with various countries and international organizations, including the United Nations, to secure their release and provide necessary support.
So far, 3,862 Thai citizens have expressed their intention to return to Thailand, while 52 have chosen to stay in Israel for work purposes. (TNA)
