BANGKOK, July 19 (TNA) – Election –winning Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat delivered a short farewell address to cease his MP duties by the order of the Constitutional Court.
He announced his farewell during the parliamentary session, saying “goodbye until we meet again” after receiving a notification from the Constitutional Court to temporarily suspend him from duties until the court delviered a ruling on the alleged media shareholding cases, filed against him by the Election Commission.
He expressed his belief that Thailand has undergone a significant change since May 14, with the people halfway to victory. Although he has not fulfilled his duties (as an MP), he entruted all members of parliament to continue serving and looking after the people.
After his speech, he received applause from members of the eight prospective coalition parties before leaving the meeting room.
During the ongoing parliamentary discussion, there is a debate whether the renomination of Pita for the prime minister vote violates a parliament regulation that prohibits a repeat motion. (TNA)
