CHIANG MAI, April 24 (TNA) – Thunderstorms and harsh wind hit many districts in Chiang Mai, bringing down trees and cutting off power.
Storms knocked down trees and destroyed homes and high-voltage power poles. Many areas in Mae Rim, San Sai and Doi Saket districts experienced power outages.
A hailstorm hit Doi Mon Cham in Mae Rim distirct, causing damage to several tent resorts.

Villagers cleared toppled trees that blocked roads. Avocado orchards were smashed by the storm. Fruits were knocked off the trees.
In Roi Et, a hailstorm and strong wind on Sunday ripped through the provincial seat, damaging two high-voltage power poles. It caused a widespread blackout. Trees were felled onto the road, leading to Roi Et Airport. Officials were deployed to clear the trees to open the road to traffic.
Lightning struck a transformer, leading to an explosion and power outages in Muang, Thawat Buri and Chiang Kwan districts. Officials spent three hours to restore power in parts of the problem areas. (TNA)
