The Expo 2028 focuses on sustainability, in particular innovation and collaboration to overcome common challenges through the three pillars of People, Planet, and Prosperity.
The Expo will transform Phuket and the region as well as the people’s mindset towards a more sustainable way of life and development.
In addition, international development cooperation is a core value and key component of Thailand’s foreign policy.
In this regard, assistance packages are available to facilitate participation in the Expo to ensure inclusive participation and build on long term collaboration beyond the Phuket Expo 2028.
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) will elect the host city at the 172nd General Assembly set to take place in June 2023, on the principle of one country, one vote.
Thailand is competing for the honor against four other global destinations, namely the United States (Minnesota), Serbia (Belgrade), Spain (Malaga), and Argentina (Bariloche). (TNA)
