BANGKOK, Oct 5 (TNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will visit Vientiane on Oct 6 and 7 to discuss railway connection between two countries.
Deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul said Mr Anutin together with Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob, executives of the Transport Ministry and the State Railway of Thailand and representatives of the private sector would visit Vientiane to discuss the railway connection between Thailand’s Nong Khai province and the Lao capital with relevant Lao authorities.
“Both sides will discuss connected services for passengers and cargoes, the construction of a new bridge across the Mekong River and the joint development of personnel in the fields of transport by roads and railways, logistics and civil aviation.
They will also inspect the Vientiane Logistics Park and be briefed on the project which is a site for Lao-Chinese cargo transport management. They will gather useful information for the extension of cargo transport to Thailand in the future,” the deputy government spokeswoman said. (TNA)
