BANGKOK, Oct 18 (TNA) – Thailand logged 10,111 new COVID-19 cases while 10,612 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.
On Oct 17, 107,226 people received treatment for COVID-19 at hospitals and 63 patients were pronounced dead.
COVID-19 outbreaks raised concern in the northern province of Chiang Mai as 88 more people who had been at the Muang Mai market from Oct 10 to 17 tested positive for COVID-19. The vendors and workers conducted their second COVID-19 test which confirmed their infection.
There have been 993 COVID-19 patients in the cluster of the Muang Mai market which will be closed until Oct 22.
Hospital beds for critically ill patients and those with moderate symptoms were fully occupied. Meanwhile, only 5% of hospital beds for mild symptoms remained vacant. There were 414 beds for patients with moderate symptoms and 2,007 beds for those with mild symptoms.
At field hospitals there were 1,500 beds for green-coded patients, only 196 of which were vacant as 1,304 patients were admitted there. (TNA)
