PATHUM THANI, March 25 (TNA) – Police were hunting for the producer of substandard medical gloves after seizing 19.65 million medical gloves worth 500 million baht in the province yesterday (March 24).
Police were gathering evidence to seek a warrant for the arrest of a Chinese national suspected of being the producer who would be charged with the unauthorized production of medical gloves, the production of fake medical tools and their sales.
Police seized 19.65 million medical gloves at a warehouse in Lam Luk Ka district where the substandard gloves were produced and packed. During the raid, 19 workers were producing and packing the gloves. The workers were treated as witnesses.
The raid responded to many complainants who told police that they had been lured into buying imported medical gloves and some of them had paid about 50 million baht in deposits. Later they either received no gloves or obtained substandard ones which were rejected after being exported. (TNA)
