BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) – The Criminal Court questioned Arnon Nampa and other detained anti-government rally leaders on his written complaint about safety while their lawyer expressed his concern about possible contempt of court by another rally leader, Parit Chiwarak.
Corrections officials brought Mr Arnon and other rally leaders Panupong “Mike” Jadnok and Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpattararaksa to the court which questioned them on Mr Arnon’s written complaint about their safety during detention.
Their lawyer said that the court also summonsed a deputy director-general of the Corrections Department and corrections officials and demanded all surveillance camera footage of their prison.
The lawyer admitted that he was concerned about the court’s summons for Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak for questioning about possible contempt of court on March 15. The lawyer said he was waiting for details on the matter.
Contempt of court carried a jail term of six months and/or a fine of up to 500 baht. (TNA)
