BANGKOK, March 5 (TNA) – The Royal Thai Air Force has used Facebook for public relations, not for information operations (IOs), its commander-in-chief said.
In response to the news report that Facebook removed 185 accounts it found to be behind alleged information operations for the Thai military, Air force chief ACM Airbull Suttiwan said the air force did not use Facebook for any other purpose than its public relations. He firmly denied the air force had any information operation.
He also said that the armed forces had naturally both supporters and opponents and they simply continued performing their duties.
Asked if Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha made any order in response to ongoing accusations against the armed forces, ACM Airbull said the prime minister told the armed forces to remain calm and perform their duties at their best. (TNA)
