TAK, Feb 22 (TNA) – Eleven schools in Tak’s Mae Sot reopened on Monday after almost two-month closure as the Covid-19 situation there has improved.
There have been no new cases recorded in Mae Sot district for several days.
The schools and children’s development centers in the Mae Sot municipality applied strict screening and disease control measures on the first day of reopening.
Students are required to wear face masks and carried hand sanitizer.
Classrooms have been arranged to maintain an appropriate social distance among students.
Currently, 50 coronavirus cases in Mae Sot remain hospitalized. Public health officials are still conducting active case testing while urging both Thais and migrants to protect themselves from Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Samut Sakhon remains the only maximum control zone (red). It reported 33 new cases in the daily case tally on Monday, taking the total cases to 16,113.
Thailand today logged 89 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total to 25,504.
Of the total, 24,361 recovered including 76 discharged over the past 24 hours and 1,060 others were at hospitals. The death toll remained unchanged at 83. (TNA)
