BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) – The Chart Thai Pattana Party has agreed
to join Palang Pracharat Party (PPRP) coalition and to support PPRP’s prime
ministerial candidate, Prayut Chan-o-cha.
One day after receiving a formal invitation from the PPRP,
Chart Thai Pattana executives and 10 MPs unanimously agreed to the proposal,
said its deputy leader Yuttaphol Angkinan.
The deal was done after the PPRP agreed to incorporate Chart
Thai Pattana campaign polices, he said.
It is reported two Cabinet posts allocated for Chart Thai
Pattana Party but Yuttaphol declined to confirm. “It is still under consideration, but I can
confirm that both parties are able to work together.”
The party leader, Kanchana Silpa-archa, would determine
which party members to fill political offices, he added.
More than two months after the election, the pro-junta PPRP
which is on course to lead the next government has not been unable to complete
a solid coalition. On Monday, it invited
Democrat Party and Bhumjaithai parties to join the alliance have not “said yes”
the “marriage proposals.”
Observers say the PPRP failed to agree on key conditions and
Cabinet portfolios with both the medium-sized Democrat and Bhumjaithai parties.(TNA)
