CHIANG MAI, March 27 (TNA) – Over 40 houses have been
damaged after a summer storm hit a wide area in Chiang Mai province.
Summer storms caused by a high-pressure system from China
and hot weather have affected several provinces in upper Thailand over the past
few days.
A storm struck San Pa Tong district Tuesday night, bringing
heavy rain and gusty winds.
Military personnel have been dispatched to provide
assistance to residents whose houses were damaged in the storm. Administration
officials in San Pa Tong rushed to cleared debris and repair houses.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert warning
people of outbreaks of thunder summer storms in the North and the Northeast.
