BANGKOK, Jan 28 (TNA) – Thai political parties are making
active movements including the introduction of their potential MP candidates
and policies.
Suwat Liptapanlop, a key figure of the Chartpattana Party,
introduced potential candidates for 30 constituencies in Bangkok and announced
policies to make Bangkok a hub of tourism and economic development.
The policies included computer application to relieve
traffic congestion, campaigns for Euro 5 diesel to reduce toxic smoke and dust,
the increase in green areas and the better connectivity of public transport
modes on roads, rails and waterways.
The party also planned to improve the quality of street foods,
mobile banking and 5G technology application and build stadiums in all Bangkok
districts.
Meanwhile, Nikorn Chamnong, a key member of the Chart Thai
Pattana Party, said his party would conclude its list of MP candidates tomorrow
and it planned to field candidates in more than 300 constituencies.
He also said that the party would ask the Election
Commission to relocate boxes on ballots to prevent confusion of voters.
In another development, the Election Commission (EC) started
its online registration for eligible voters who want to cast their vote in
advance today.
The registration through www.khonthai.com went smoothly for
registration for voting in the country but the system crashed initially for
planned voting outside Thailand. The EC attributed the problem to too many
visitors to the website.(TNA)
