RATCHABURI, Nov 6 (TNA) – One soldier was killed, seven others injured in an explosion at the Phutachatra military camp in Ratchaburi.
The blast occurred at 11 a.m. today during a rehearsal to demonstrate the mission of the army’s engineer department in preparation for a group of visitors, says Col Sirichan Ngathong, deputy army spokesperson.
Army personnels were crossing the water in a boat when the explosion went off. One soldier was killed and seven other injured are now being treated at two hospitals.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, she said.
The dead soldier was identified as Sergeant Yutthapong Chankhonkaen. The army will hold a funeral ceremony for him and offer welfare for his family. (TNA)
