BANGKOK, Oct 18 (TNA) – One more Thai citizen was killed in Israel, bringing the total number of Thai fatalities to 30, said Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin.
The number of injured Thai people and those held captive remains unchanged (at 16 and 17 respectively), he added.
The process of repatriating Thai citizens is expected to continue at a rate of 600 people per day, and all Thai citizens who have expressed their desire to return should be accommodated by the end of this month.
However, several Thai citizens who wish to return are still unable to leave the high-risk areas. At present, the security agencies are persistent in their efforts, with the Supreme Commander attempting to establish contact to facilitate the safe and swift evacuation of Thai citizens.
Additionally, the Secretary-General of the United Nations is scheduled to travel to Egypt tomorrow to visit the conflict zone with the goal of promoting a peaceful resolution as quickly as possible. (TNA)
